WELCOME Welcome to the first issue of ACCENT for the 2018-2019 school year. Inside this issue, the 2017-2018 Annual Report is featured. The school extends a BIG thank you to everyone who contributed to a successful 2017-2018 school year, and who continue to support the school each and every year. We've also included news around campus, success stories among the faculty and student body, and brief bios on our new full-time employees.

HAPPY HOLIDAYS It's a magical time of year, and all of us here at The Awty International School would like to wish all of you a Happy Holiday and a Joyous New Year! Our students kicked off the holiday season by singing various carols in different languages at our annual Tree Lighting Ceremony on December 7. Santa even made a special appearance during the ceremony, delighting students both young and old. Keeping with tradition, the students who have been at Awty the longest and the newest Awty student were honored with lighting Awty's Christmas tree during the event. This honor went to ten students this year. Nine seniors including Thomas Bunch, Sebastien Chenin, Celine Farhat, Emma Greenwood, Brandon Mahan, Emily Niemer, Daphne Panagos, and Sherwin Rasekh began attending Awty as preschoolers in 2004 and have all been at Awty the longest. Averie Patel, a PK3 student, is both the youngest and newest Awty student. These students were joined by Sam Waugh (the employee who has worked at Awty the longest), Ismahene Arraour (the newest Awty employee), Head of School Lisa Darling, Proviseure Christine Chourré, and Santa Claus in lighting the tree.
